Bláthú Steiner Early Childhood Association in collaboration with the Irish Waldorf Education Association are delighted to welcome all of you once again to our annual Steiner Waldorf education conference 2026. It is a joy to gather together in our shared purpose and work with children where we can learn from each other, deepen perspectives and connect as friends, parents and colleague.

This year is especially significant as we celebrate a century of Steiner Waldorf Early Childhood Education. It is fitting that our theme, Evolutions in Waldorf Education, invites us to reflect on how this living educational approach has grown and adapted in changing times whilst at its core, the Steiner Waldorf approach to the human being remains just as relevant today as it was 100 years ago. Over this day we hope to provide food for thought, renewal of inspiration and a sense of shared connectedness which we will bring back to our lives and practice. This years one day programme is packed to the max and promises to offer a wide variety of workshops along with an inspiring keynote talk with our guests Lina Palaez (founder of Brigit's Hearth early childhood care model) and Martyn Rawson, editor of the 'Yellow book' - Steiner Waldorf Curriculum book.

Our Purpose

The Irish word 'Bláthú' means to flourish or blossom

At BLÁTHÚ, we are passionate advocates for Steiner Waldorf early childhood education throughout Ireland. Our vision is that all early childhood settings are places where children are known, where they experience a life of activity and adventure, and are fully self-expressed in their learning. With a particular focus on the formative first seven years of life, our approach is deeply informed by the enduring pedagogy of Rudolf Steiner.
